A Wendy's Crew Member, also called a Team Member, is responsible for providing quality customer service by taking orders, preparing food items, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring a positive experience for each customer in a fast-paced restaurant environment while adhering to all company policies and safety procedures; key aspects include being cross-trained in multiple stations, demonstrating a positive attitude, and prioritizing customer satisfaction.
Key responsibilities:
- Customer service:
Greeting customers with a smile, taking accurate orders, answering questions, and ensuring friendly interaction. - Food preparation:
Operating kitchen equipment like grills, fryers, and slicers to prepare food items according to standards. - Order fulfillment:
Packaging food items correctly and presenting them to customers. - Cash handling:
Operating the point-of-sale system to process payments accurately. - Restaurant maintenance:
Keeping the dining area, kitchen, and workstations clean and organized. - Cross-training:
Learning and performing duties at multiple stations within the restaurant, such as the front counter, drive-thru, and food prep. - Following procedures:
Adhering to safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper food handling practices
Required skills:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Team player with a positive attitude.
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights
Environmental conditions:
- The fast pace within our restaurants and the need to meet public requests require all crew members to be able to handle stressful situations while maintaining a calm, pleasant attitude and efficient working pace.
- Bright, flashing lights and loud, repetitive noises are constant throughout the day to ensure proper cook times, hold times, and speed of service.
- Kitchen staff often work with potentially dangerous equipment, such as knives, hot stoves, and heavy machinery. Not following proper procedures could result in burns from hot surfaces, cuts from sharp objects, or other serious injuries.
- All positions require long periods of standing without a break, reach items on shelves with or without the use of a stepladder, and must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. (weight varies by position).
