Job Title

Hermès Cuirs Précieux (HCP) is a subsidiary of Hermès, specializing in the manufacturing of exceptional leathers. Recognized for the expertise of its 900 employees in the tanning and finishing of precious skins, HCP builds and values several lines (exotic, calfskin, goat), allowing it to guarantee traceability and animal welfare.

The Tannery of Vivoin, a major player in the exotic leather sector, is a human-sized site (160 employees, 120 artisans). It uses its expertise in crocodile and lizard skins to serve the excellence of the House. Benefiting from constant investments, we use the latest technologies in respect of traditional leather manufacturing and environmental protection.

Member of the site's management committee and reporting to the site director, you will supervise two employees. Your mission will be to implement an HSE approach aimed at controlling and preventing risks related to working conditions, staff safety, and the environment.

As the guarantor of the HSE policy, you will ensure the site's compliance with current standards and animate the HSE culture and the policy of sustainable development. You will advise the site's management on HSE issues and coordinate the associated action plans.

The progression of the safety culture towards zero accidents is a cornerstone of HCP and the Vivoin tannery's strategy. Your action through the activation of specific working groups, communication at all levels of the hierarchy, and the follow-up of corrective and preventive actions within the tannery directly contributes to the strategic roadmap of HCP and the Hermès House on the subject of the health and safety of its employees.

The position is to be filled on a permanent basis as soon as possible and will be based in Vivoin (72).

Implementation of the HSE approach:

• Apply the main HSE objective: control HSE risks to maintain the safety of staff and the professional and natural environment.
• Evaluate the professional risks of employees (work accidents and commuting, incidents…) and environmental threats (pollution, nuisances) for clients, partners, and visitors of the company and for the natural environment.
• Analyze internal prevention procedures, conduct HSE regulatory, competitive, and normative monitoring… measure the respective levels of compliance with internal standards and regulatory provisions.
• Translate HSE objectives according to the regulatory context, management orientations, and internal constraints, determine HSE indicators, negotiate and implement HSE budgetary and human resources.
• Develop and validate a global action plan, define prevention plans, identify priority improvement projects, participate in internal and external communication.

Deployment of the HSE strategy:

• Bring to life the internal HSE culture: animate working groups and correspondents, lead internal training, participate in the CSSCT (health, safety, and working conditions commission), maintain relations with staff representatives.
• Validate internal HSE standards, formalize the documentary fund, coordinate HSE action plans, develop emergency plans, crisis management, continuity of activities.
• Bring technical, methodological operational support to managers and employees in the application of standards and regulatory provisions, manage non-conformities.
• Maintain relations with authorities, professional organizations, and control bodies, ensure regulatory obligations and registers.
• Participate actively in different business audits (e.g., Audit Leather Working Group)
