Location: Hot Springs Village

SUMMARY

Attends golf shop, providing sign‑in services to golfers, takes cash receipts, and keeps shop orderly and clean.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Inspect golf shop, restrooms, equipment, and golf carts daily for upkeep and safety issues, taking action to correct any substandard condition.
  • Conduct check‑in procedures and collect all proper fees.
  • Direct flow of golf play and start all players on the starting tee.
  • Process requests for tee times and cancellations as per procedures.
  • Clean out all carts after completing a round, check for correct operation before returning cart to service or to cart shed for storage. Report damages to supervisor.
  • Stay current on P.O.A. rules and regulations relative to golf operations and golf play.
  • Assist in the sale of merchandise.
  • Follow all P.O.A. policy and procedures.
  • Use tact and diplomacy in dealing with persons in person or by telephone.
  • Monitor and check golf course conditions for potential problems and communicate with maintenance employees and marshals.
  • General housekeeping in shops – dust, vacuum, and clean computers.
  • Flexible work schedule – golf shops open 364 days a year, closed only on Christmas day.
  • Service driving range, including selling range balls, picking up and filling baskets.
  • Other duties assigned by the Manager or Director of Golf.
  • Regular attendance is required.
  • QUALIFICATIONS

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.     EDUCATION AND OR EXPERIENCE

    High School degree; three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS

    Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.

    REASONING ABILITY

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
