General
Summary:
The Maintenance Worker performs a variety of unskilled and semi‑skilled maintenance, repair, and construction tasks in the various building trades, and does other related work as required.
- Performs unskilled and semi‑skilled maintenance, repair, and construction work in the various maintenance trades.
- Assists skilled maintenance personnel in the construction, installation, and maintenance of roofs, furniture fences, playground equipment, cabinets, shelving, chalkboards, and bulletin boards.
- Assists in the installation, repair, and maintenance of gas, water and electrical, DC and AC lines.
- Assists in the repair and replacement of floor and ceiling tile.
- Assists in the maintenance and repair of heating, ventilating, and cooling systems.
- Assists in the repair of door hardware.
- Loads, unloads, and may drive maintenance service vehicles to and from work sites.
- Prepares surfaces and paints a variety of equipment, furniture, and facility physical structures.
- Performs custodial and cleanup functions as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or the Superintendent designee.
- Uses tools and equipment common to the maintenance trade.
- Reads and works from simple drawings and blueprints.
- Prepares simple reports and records.
- Knowledge of common tools, materials, equipment, and terminology used in the general maintenance trades, rules, regulations and policies pertaining to the maintenance of school facilities and safe working methods and procedures.
- Certificate, license, or other legal credential required.
- Degree(s) required and area of major study.
- Kind and amount of prior job experience required.
- Such alternative to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
Position Type: Full-Time
Salary: $21,761 to $26,511 Per Year
