Aerial Lift Trimmer
The Aerial Lift Trimmer is responsible for trimming, pruning, and removing trees with the aid of a bucket truck or other equipment or tools. 2-3 years previous professional experience operating an aerial lift trimmer or Jarraff is required. Driver's license is required.
Essential functions include following and enforcing safe practices, assisting in preparing truck and materials, performing professional tree maintenance activities, clearing and trimming trees and brush away from utility lines, maintaining and keeping track of all tools and equipment, observing and practicing climbing and tree maintenance skills, assisting other crew members, safeguarding employees and public from hazards, and performing duties for storm work as needed.
Experience requirements include prior experience in electric utility vegetation management, construction, logging, landscaping, mechanical, or military industries, and previous aerial lift experience. Education requirements include a high school diploma or education equivalent preferred. Knowledge, skills, and abilities include demonstrating a working knowledge of all knots, ropes and rigging devices, identifying tree species, familiarity with electrical hazards, working and maneuvering at considerable heights, possessing physical strength and agility, obtaining and maintaining first-aid certification and CPR, administering and implementing emergency rescue techniques, quickly removing yourself from a potential danger area, wearing necessary personal protective equipment (PPE), and traveling out of town for storm restoration work when needed.
