The Fertigation Tech II position is a technical role focused on manual irrigations and automated irrigation system basics. This role acts as a middle ground for the department, introducing more technical skills and knowledge with higher accountability tasks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Assists in training for new employees and ensures staff are following proper protocol to meet company standards.
- Performs all Tech I tasks as needed.
- Assesses and irrigates any plants requiring manual feeds.
- Monitors, maintains and responds to plant health for manually fed plants, as well as fulfilling goals such as runoff % and dry down %.
- Mixes stock solution tanks accurately for the automated irrigation system.
- Assesses automated system performance and assist supervisor with adjustments related to the irrigation system.
- Collects water samples for lab analysis and performs in-house water sample tests.
- Initiates irrigations via the automated irrigation system in limited circumstances.
- Performs work in adherence to biosecurity & safety protocols.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Must be able to obtain a state medical marijuana badge.
- State/Federal background checks required.
- Understands and adheres to SOP’s for specialized areas.
- Ability to handle multiple projects & tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work well under pressure and within tight deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills are necessary.
- Strong ethics, reliability & attention to detail.
- Ability to stay focused.
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic. Must be a team player with a “can do” attitude.
- Available to work weekends and holidays as needed.
- Reliable transportation.
- High school degree or equivalent.
- Working knowledge of fertigation department processes and procedures.
- 6 months+ of fertigation experience in a licensed cannabis facility strongly preferred.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- The ability to respond quickly to sounds.
- The ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces.
- The ability to see and respond to dangerous situations.
- The ability to wear personal protective gear correctly most of the day.
- The ability to sit or stand for up to 12 hours at a time.
- The ability to work in bright/hot/humid conditions.
- The ability to work in low light situations.
- Lifting, standing, sitting, walking, bending, reaching, push/pull, repetitive use of hands, grasping use of hands, visual activity.
- Exposure to limited hazardous chemicals.
- Must be able to go up and down a ladder repeatedly.
