Groundsperson

The Groundsperson clears brush and trees as directed and performs clean-up on each job site. This role will support the Jarraff Operator as a ground hand. Driver's License is required to be considered for this role. Previous experience in vegetation management or line clearance is preferred.

Essential functions include following and enforcing safe practices and rules, keeping work area clear of debris, using various tools to cut brush and trees, loading and unloading trucks, performing general clean-up of job sites, carrying, preparing, and storing materials, tools and equipment, setting up and breaking down road signs, flagging traffic, driving trucks or operating other equipment, performing basic maintenance service on trucks and equipment, safeguarding employees and public from hazards, and performing duties for storm work as needed.

Experience requirements include prior experience in electric utility vegetation management, construction, logging, landscaping, mechanical, or military industries. Education requirements include a high school diploma or education equivalent. Knowledge, skills, and abilities include physical strength and balance, ability to work outdoors under varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions, ability to hear verbal instructions from a distance, ability to obtain and maintain first-aid certification and CPR, ability to wear necessary personal protective equipment (PPE), ability to comprehend verbal job instructions/information, ability to maintain balance over uneven terrain, ability to communicate with others, endurance necessary to perform duties throughout a standard eight or ten hour day, ability to operate and service all required tools and equipment, and ability to travel out of town for storm restoration work when needed.
