Lead Platform Engineer – Responsibilities

Build, optimize, and modernize developer tool chains and the SDLC that engineering teams depend on. Design and deliver enterprise‑grade developer tooling, treating the SDLC as a product and developers as the primary consumers.

• Help evolve the core SDLC toolchain end‑to‑end, including CI/CD pipeline orchestration, code‑quality and static‑analysis, artifact and package management, and build‑automation frameworks.
• Architect quality gates, artifact promotion strategies, dependency governance, and pipeline patterns that are fast, reliable, and self‑service.
• Define and deliver standardized SDLC capabilities—automation, security integration, observability, and AI‑assisted development—to reduce cognitive load while preserving flexibility.
• Lead the hands‑on adoption and enterprise enablement of AI‑assisted software development tools such as Claude Code, Git Hub Copilot, and similar environments.
• Build enterprise controls, guardrails, and usage patterns required to safely adopt these tools at scale.
• Partner across Platform Engineering, Architecture, Security, and application teams to ensure solutions are intuitive, scalable, and aligned with enterprise standards.

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering, platform engineering, or Dev Ops, with a strong foundation as a developer.
• Deep experience building and optimizing CI/CD pipelines, build systems, and developer tool chains.
• Hands‑on life‑time experience with tools such as Harness.io, Sonar Qube, Artifactory/Nexus, and CI/CD orchestration frameworks.
• Proficiency in modern software delivery practices, Git Ops, cloud‑native platforms, infrastructure as code (Terraform or equivalent), and container orchestration (AWS, Kubernetes, Docker).
• Strong expertise building and evolving developer tooling, SDLC platforms, and Dev Ops capabilities as long‑lived platform products.
• Experience with AI‑assisted development tools (Claude Code, Git Hub Copilot, Cursor, etc.) and building secure, cost‑controlled, and auditable usage frameworks.
• Programmatic skills in Type Script, Python, Java, or Go, with a track record of writing production code.
• Excellent communication skills, translating platform strategy into concrete developer outcomes.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).

Charlotte Base Salary Range: $153,842–$246,147. In addition to a competitive base salary, eligible employees receive an individual annual performance bonus, Capital’s annual profitability bonus, and a retirement plan with a 15% company contribution.
