Annual base salary range: $99,100.00 - $. Target openings:
1. Salary determined by scope, complexity, location, skills, education, credentials, and experience.

Travelers is seeking a Software Engineer I to join our Personal Insurance organization as we grow and transform our Technology landscape. This role involves completing intermediate end-to-end engineering tasks: developing, analyzing, configuring, testing, debugging, troubleshooting, documenting, health monitoring/alerting, and implementing based on user or system design specifications, as well as participating in impact analysis and escalation.

• Perform analysis, design, development, and configuration functions for assignments of intermediate complexity.
• Participate with the team to analyze, assess, and resolve defects and incidents of intermediate complexity, escalating as needed.
• Work within team guidelines to independently tackle well‑scoped problems.
• Seek opportunities to expand technical knowledge and capabilities.
• Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

• Three years of programming/development experience.
• Proficient in building scalable web applications using Type Script and backend development with Node.js and C#.
• Practical exposure to AI and Generative AI integration.
• Intermediate delivery skills: steady, predictable pace, deliverable decomposition, trade‑off discussions.
• Domain expertise: understanding of technical concepts, cooperation with business issues, in‑depth knowledge of immediate systems.
• Problem‑solving skills: debugging, identifying sources of issues, breaking down large problems.
• Strong communication skills: clear documentation, collaboration, constructive criticism.
• Intermediate leadership skills: self‑motivation, personal growth initiative.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, related STEM field, or equivalent education/work experience.
• 2 additional years of software engineering experience.
• Authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.; no sponsorship for H‑1B, TN, or STEM OPT.
