As a New Patient Coordinator II (NPC II), you will be on the training path of an Orthodontic Assistant in training. Under the supervision of the orthodontist, the NPC II learns and masters various orthodontic procedures and demonstrates progress toward mastery, performing them independently or under the orthodontist’s direction. The NPC II will also act as a backup for the NPC role, which includes taking records (pictures and x-rays) used for creating a treatment plan for the new patient.
DutiesInclude But Are Not Limited To
- Under the supervision of the orthodontist, learn and master the following orthodontic procedures.
- Assist the orthodontist during procedures (e.g., adjusting braces, placing orthodontic appliances).
- Complete full-arch bonding top and bottom, bonding fixed retainers.
- Debonding;
Rebonding brackets. - Use various digital scanners;
Take clear x-rays and photos;
Take accurate scans for retainers. - Make clear retainers;
Deliver expanders, space maintainers and Forsus appliances. - Sterilize equipment and maintain a clean working environment (including picture & X-ray area).
- Collaborate with the Treatment Coordinator to ensure patient case acceptance via a warm hand-off to the TC.
- Assist in meeting and/or exceeding monthly and annual clinic goals.
- Discuss payment options and provide general information regarding insurance coverage related to orthodontics.
- When traveling to another clinic, perform all role duties including administrative tasks.
- Participate in marketing events and complete annual compliance training.
- Other tasks as assigned.
- High School Diploma/ GED
- Ability to work independently and in a team setting
- Computer skills
- Ability to travel and transport self to other practice locations
- Minimum 6 months chairside experience
- Bilingual - Spanish (Preferred)
- Monday – Wednesday 8:45am – 5:00pm
- Thursday & Friday 6:45am – 3:00pm
- 2 Saturdays per month
- Two 9:45 am to 6:00 pm shifts per month
