Pharmacy Technician I - Repackaging/Distribution (Mon-Fri Day shift)

Base pay range: $21.45/hr - $32.20/hr
Major Responsibilities- Develops competence in dispensing and delivery of medications, including use of information systems, technology, and automation for dispensing and storage.
- Develops competence in preparing non-sterile products following USP, state, and federal recommendations.
- Develops competence in entering medication orders and processing requests via the computer system.
- Develops competence in managing phone calls from customers and team members such as nurses, physicians, or patients, ensuring accurate understanding, timely resolution, or appropriate hand‑off.
- Develops competence in pharmacy procedures and documentation required by legal, regulatory, and departmental standards.
- Complies with legal, regulatory, and accreditation standards, including controlled substance procedures, USP procedures, and DNV requirements.
Licensure (IL only):
State of Wisconsin (registration).
Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Technician Student;
Certification (CPhT) issued by PTCB or ExCPT within two years of hire, or sooner if required by law. Must sit for the certification exam at least once within the first year of employment.
Patient‑facing teammates may be required to hold three certifications:
Immunization, BLS approved by Advocate Health, and a non‑vaccine injectable certification granted by the state of WI or approved by ACPE or the WI pharmacy examining board.
- High School Graduate.
- No experience required.
- Good mathematics skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Good written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Operating all equipment necessary to perform the job.
- Frequent fine‑motor motion of hands and wrists to operate a keyboard and manipulate syringes.
- Lifting, carrying, and/or pushing/pulling various items (bags, boxes, carts, etc.) with proper technique.
- Frequent lifting to 35 lbs., carrying up to 35 lbs. at waist height a reasonable distance, and pushing/pulling with up to 30 lbs. of force.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, bend, kneel, climb, twist, crawl, and reach above shoulders.
- Functional speech, vision, touch, and hearing.
- Possible exposure to chemical hazards.
- Possible exposure to chemical and hazardous waste, blood and body fluids, and communicable disease; protective clothing and equipment must be worn as necessary.
