Radiologic Technologist II - Per Diem

Hourly Pay Range:
$29.68 - $46.00 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

• Per Diem Options (within a 6-week period): As Needed only or Level 1 (32-72 hours), Level 2 (73-110 hours), Level 3 (111-144 hours)
• Per Diem Level Differentials: Level 1 additional $4.00 per hour, Level 2 additional $5.00 per hour, Level 3 additional $6.00 per hour
• Hours: Rotating, to meet the needs of the department

What you will do:

Operates a variety of radiology equipment to produce radiographs of the body for diagnostic purposes as directed by the Radiologists, in accordance with established protocols. Assists physicians and other clinical staff with obtaining films, images, and other records using the Radiology PACS or hospital information systems. Explains procedure to patients, giving opportunity for questions to reduce anxiety and promote trust. Works in surgery as assigned.

Delivers and ensures customer service in all aspects of job.

What you will need:

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program, required.
• Current ARRT registration with certification in Radiography.
• Illinois Emergency Management Agency, Dept of Nuclear Safety accreditation required.
• One year experience as a general radiographer with operating room experience or an NCH student Radiologic Technologist graduate with 3 months experience in surgery/OR, required.
• Current CPR certification from American Heart Association, required.
• Knowledge of and/or experience in the correct use of body mechanics.
• Demonstrated ability to perform numerous radiographic examinations that are required in the surgical area.
• The interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively with patients and who may be anxious or confused and to interact whit surgeons and other hospital staff.
• The analytical ability to determine proper patient positioning and to determine quality of exams performed.
• The communication skills necessary to inform patients regarding examination procedures and discuss procedure requirement with surgeons.
• The ability to maintain a flexible work schedule.
• The ability to use a computer to perform the representative functions and competencies of the job as defined by the Radiology Department.
