Associate Attorney

Overview

Associate Attorney at Zwelling Law, PLLC to help with a high volume of healthcare defense litigation cases. Candidates should have 2-8 years civil litigation experience, preferably in the area of medical malpractice and/or nursing home litigation. Duties will include drafting pleadings, drafting and assembling responses to written discovery, drafting motions, appearing for court calls, writing opinion letters, taking and defending depositions, analyzing clinical data and managing files from start to finish.

The position initially is mentor-based until such time as the candidate demonstrates competency to manage files. The candidate will work under the supervision of a senior partner. Salary is $100,000 to $150,000 based on experience.

• Drafting legal documents, including motions and pleadings
• Review and analyze clinical data
• Assist with the discovery process by administering depositions, issuing interrogatories, and reviewing documents
• 2nd chair trials: make court appearances and perform legal research as needed

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
• License to practice law in Illinois
• Litigating experience (2-8 years)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
