The Caddie is responsible for assisting club members and guests throughout their rounds of golf. Key duties include carrying golf bags, offering course‑related advice, and maintaining a high standard of service to ensure an exceptional experience for all players.
Reporting Structure- Reports to the Head Golf Professional
- Provide course‑related information, including yardages, wind conditions, and hazards.
- Assist players with club selection and offer guidance on course layout and player ability.
- Uphold high standards of customer service, ensuring a memorable experience for members.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a secure environment on the course.
- Carry and manage golf bags, clubs, and equipment for players during rounds.
- Maintain course cleanliness by replacing divots, raking bunkers, and repairing ball marks.
- Ensure that golf bags and equipment are organized, cleaned, and ready for use.
- Assist in loading/unloading golf bags and preparing carts as needed.
- Due to the dynamic nature of the club, employees are expected to assist others as needed and take on additional tasks as assigned by management.
- Follow all company, club, and department policies, procedures, and instructions.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and a commitment to excellence in interactions with members, colleagues, and staff.
- Follow safe working practices, ensuring compliance with safety guidelines and encouraging others to do the same.
- Take the initiative in personal and professional growth and maintain any required certifications relevant to your role.
- Address and resolve challenges using available resources, working with regional and corporate teams to support club operations.
- Attend daily briefings and actively engage in required activities to stay informed and contribute to the team’s success.
- Prior experience in a similar role or extensive knowledge of golf.
- Ability to walk long distances and carry heavy bags (up to 75 lbs.) for extended periods.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with members, guests, and staff.
- Excellent knowledge of golf etiquette, rules, and best practices.
- A positive attitude and commitment to providing outstanding service.
- High attention to detail and reliability.
- Primarily outdoors with frequent exposure to extreme hot or cold temperatures and humidity.
- Sitting, standing, walking, climbing/ladders, squatting/kneeling, reaching, grasping, pushing/pulling, twisting/bending, lifting/carrying up to 100 lbs., talking, hearing, and seeing.
- Golf Clubs & Bag 40 - 50 lbs.
- Merchandise 5 - 30 lbs.
- Computer 25 lbs.
- Attendance requirements for this position as outlined on the weekly schedule.
- Additional hours are required to meet deadlines of the position, including weekends and/or holidays.
