Neuroscience Sales Specialist – Schaumburg, IL

Intra‑Cellular Therapies Inc. (a Johnson & Johnson company) is a leader in neuroscience with a strong pipeline from pre‑clinical to Phase III. We are expanding our CAPLYTA® medical team to support growing impact in psychiatry.
Job Responsibilities- Operate within compliance guidelines to drive sales performance and meet or exceed forecasts in assigned territory by engaging HCP offices and Mental Health Community Centers both in‑person and virtually.
- Use assigned budgets effectively to achieve territory objectives and tailor discussions to customers’ needs in a compliant manner.
- Maintain deep understanding of local market dynamics, practice structures, evolving customers, and key influencers; share insights with internal stakeholders.
- Contribute to resource allocation decisions across customers and region, selecting appropriate programs and resources.
- Work with the Regional Business Manager to develop a local business plan that meets all objectives, leveraging formulary approvals and other opportunities.
- Collaborate with other Neuroscience Sales Specialists to share best practices.
- Provide timely and accurate administrative management of work hours, sales call data, and expense reporting.
- Build a business plan based on customer needs, resources, and products.
- Complete all required training within established timelines.
- 2+ years of sales experience in pharmaceuticals, biologics, or medical device sales (3+ years in specialty pharmaceuticals preferred).
- Experience in launch, antipsychotic, and/or bipolar sales highly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; valid driver’s license with safe driving record.
- Strong passion for improving patient and caregiver outcomes; patient‑centric mindset.
- High integrity and compliance with company’s policies.
- Self‑motivated, entrepreneurial, strong decision‑making and collaboration skills.
- Track record of adapting in evolving environments (e.g., Covid‑19).
- Agile and adaptable to telemedicine/virtual settings.
- Data‑driven: analyze metrics to gauge progress and identify opportunities.
- Establish new customer relationships and communicate technical information effectively.
- Work hours may include meetings outside normal hours; overnight travel and periodic domestic travel may be required.
