Ben Bellucci Academy is looking for an athletic, dependable, and high-energy After-School Sports Instructor to lead our youth programs throughout Cook County
. We are specifically seeking a coach who is "dual-threat"—capable of teaching the fundamentals of both Flag Football and Soccer to elementary students (Grades K-5).
This role is ideal for former athletes, local coaches, or educators who want to help kids develop athletic coordination, learn the rules of the game, and build lasting confidence through team sports.
Key ResponsibilitiesSport-Specific
Coaching:
Lead high-energy sessions focusing on Soccer (dribbling, passing, and shooting) and Flag Football (route running, flag-pulling, and throwing mechanics).Drill Leadership: Facilitate age-appropriate drills that keep 15–20 students active and engaged for the duration of the 90-minute session.
Game Management: Organize and referee small-sided scrimmages, ensuring all students play in a fair, safe, and positive environment.
Mentorship: Use positive reinforcement to teach sportsmanship, teamwork, and resilience.
Safety amp;
Logistics: Manage student transitions from the classroom to the field. Ensure proper check-in/check-out and follow all school safety protocols.Equipment Care: Responsible for the setup and breakdown of cones, goals, flags, and balls at each site.
Experience working with elementary-aged children (coaching, teaching, or camp counselor background).
Strong proficiency in the rules and fundamentals of both Soccer and Flag Football.
Ability to maintain high energy and command the attention of a large group of children.
Reliable transportation to various school sites throughout Cook County (Chicago and surrounding suburbs).
CPR/First Aid certification is a plus.
Must pass a comprehensive background check (meeting Illinois and local school district vendor standards).
Pay
Hours: After-school hours, typically ranging from 2:30 PM to 5:00 PM
.Commitment: 1–5 days per week (flexible based on your availability).
Pay Rate: $25.00 – $30.00 per hour based on experience and coaching background.
Flexible, part-time schedule that fits well with other commitments.
Paid training and access to BBA’s national youth sports curriculum.
All coaching equipment and BBA apparel provided.
