JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION: SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER/LEARNING SPECIALIST

Ottoson Middle School is looking for a long term substitute Special Education Teacher for August - November 2026, to cover for a teacher on a leave of absence.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Master's Degree in Special Education Preferred

Two or more years successful teaching experience in Special Education

Massachusetts Certification in Special Education Preferred (Moderate/Severe)

REPORTS TO:Special Education Coordinator & Building Principal

JOB GOAL:

Responsible for planning instruction and/or curricula adaptations for included special needs students which allow students to meet high standards and success in typical settings.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide direct instruction to students enrolled in special

Plan and modify regular

Consult with regular education

Monitor student progress in regular

Develop

IEP, determinegoalsandobj

Prepare progress

Organize and chairs annual Team

Administer testing for evaluations and end of year

Maintain contact with

Attend building Learning Team

Perform other tasks as assigned by building Principal/Special Education
