Registered Nurse RN - Adult Behavioral Health

Shift: 12 Hour Night Shift

In the Adult Behavioral Unit at Mount Sinai Rehabilitation Hospital, the Registered Nurse (RN) provides high‑quality inpatient care to adults experiencing acute and chronic mental health and substance use disorders. The RN is part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team dedicated to supporting patient recovery and well‑being.

• Perform comprehensive assessments of patients’ physical and mental health status, including psychiatric stability and withdrawal symptoms.
• Administer medications safely, monitor for effectiveness and side effects, and educate patients on treatment plans.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans in collaboration with physicians, psychiatrists, therapists, and social workers.
• Monitor patient progress and document clinical findings accurately and in a timely manner.
• Provide emotional support, crisis intervention, and de‑escalation when needed.
• Participate in treatment team meetings and discharge planning.

• Graduation from an accredited nursing school.
• Valid RN license in Connecticut.
• One year or more of experience in mental health, substance use treatment, or behavioral health acute inpatient setting.
• BLS/CPR certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross).

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.

• Part time – 24 hours per week, night shift.
• Every other weekend/holiday.
