Overall Summary
The Senior Global Inventory Network Planner is responsible for developing, managing, and optimizing global inventory plans to ensure product availability, achievement of service levels and efficient working capital utilization across multiple regions, distribution centers, manufacturing sites and suppliers.
This role partners closely with Demand Planning, Procurement, Manufacturing, Logistics, Finance, Customer Service, Sales and Regional Supply Chain teams to balance supply, demand, inventory and capacity. The Senior Global Inventory Network Planner leads inventory strategy, identifies supply risks, drives replenishment planning, supports S&OP/IBP processes and implements continuous improvement initiatives across the global supply network.
Your duties will include:- Develop and maintain global inventory plans across regions, distribution centers, manufacturing sites and product families.
- Monitor inventory levels, safety stock, reorder points, lead times and replenishment parameters to ensure optimal stock positioning and service performance.
- Recommend inventory strategies based on demand variability, lead times, service level requirements and product lifecycle stage.
- Create and manage supply plans to support global demand requirements; analyse supply constraints, capacity limitations, supplier performance and production schedules.
- Partner with Procurement, Manufacturing and suppliers to ensure timely material availability and finished goods supply.
- Identify and escalse supply risks; develop mitigation and recovery plans to minimise customer impact.
- Provide inventory projections, supply risk assessments, gap analysis and scenario planning; collaborate with Demand Planning to evaluate forecast changes and determine supply and inventory impacts.
- Prepare planning reports, executive summaries and actionable recommendations for leadership review.
- Analyse key performance metrics including inventory health, forecast accuracy, service levels, backorders, lead times and supply attainment; develop and maintain dashboards and KPIs to support decision-making.
- Utilise ERP/MRP and planning systems to maintain accurate planning parameters and master data; identify trends, root causes and continuous improvement opportunities.
- Collaborate with regional planning teams to align global supply and inventory strategies; partner with Logistics and Distribution to optimise product flow and reduce delays.
- Partner with Finance on inventory targets, reserves, projections and working capital initiatives; support new product introductions, product phase‑outs, transfers and lifecycle management.
- Serve as a subject‑matter expert for inventory planning processes, tools and best practices.
- Lead or support cross‑functional projects to improve inventory accuracy, planning efficiency, service levels and system utilisation.
- Identify opportunities to reduce excess inventory, enhance replenishment logic and standardise global planning processes.
