Overall SummaryAs a Metal Finisher, you will metal finish medical devices to meet specifications, perform quality verification of medical devices, including non‑destructive testing, laser mark medical devices, and operate machines used to metal finish including belt lathes, sandblast equipment, robots, etc.
Your duties will include:Metal Finisher I
- Operate sandblast/glass bead machines to meet quality and production requirements.
- Read and understand work instructions.
- Operate measuring tools including: CMM, digital/optical comparators, tally round, air gauges, calipers and micrometers.
- Operate belt lathe machines to meet quality and production requirements.
- Operate robotic machines to meet quality specifications and production requirements.
- Enter data into device history routers for the product produced.
- Perform secondary operations required for production such as laser marking, work‑order completions.
- Enter required production data into systems used by Micro Port for business purposes (DBH, OEE, Workman, Camstar, etc.).
- Straighten with hydraulic press.
- Mask medical devices.
- Perform penetrant inspection process to meet quality specifications and production requirements.
- Perform required PMs on machines and processes.
- Train other employees to metal finish.
- Electro‑polish process (if required for production).
- Precision finishing.
- Implement 6S practices and skills.
- Welding (if required for production).
- Proficiency in metal finishing in two of the following production areas: tibs, fems, hips, job shop and prototypes.
- Troubleshoot robot issues (if required for production).
- Heat‑treating (if required for production).
- Knowledge and experience in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.

High School diploma or GED required.
Your Experience Metal Finisher IMinimum 1 year of related experience or equivalent technical education.
Metal Finisher IIMinimum 2 years of related experience.
Sr. Metal Finisher (Internal Candidates Only)Minimum 3 years related experience.
Visual acuity requirements apply to the role, including peripheral, color, and depth perception.
