Job Summary

The Staff Accountant will prepare and maintain financial records to track the organization’s assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities. Must have experience in a manufacturing environment.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
  • 3+ years of accounting experience
  • Understanding of US GAAP and statutory accounting concepts and principles
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and SAP
  • Experience with month‑end close processed, journal entries and financial statement preparation
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with other departments
Qualifications
  • Perform all tasks associated with the general ledger, i.e., enter monthly general ledger, execute monthly closing entries and expense accruals
  • Review payroll and benefit account to make sure accuracy
  • Perform cost accounting & inventory roll forwards
  • Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and sub‑ledgers
  • Cash flow projections, including forecast to actual reconciliation
  • Preparation of monthly financial reporting package
  • Variance analysis of revenue and expense accounts
  • Produce and distribute Daily Operations Report
  • Produce budget variance reports as required
  • Maintain fixed asset master file and ensure movement and depreciation are timely booked
  • Other duties and projects as assigned
  • Develop accounting procedures. Provide suggestions and find continuous improvement points via review financial statement and daily accounting activities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting
  • Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles
  • Ability to correctly prepare tax reports
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, and accounting software
Language Skills
  • Ability to read, write and understand English
  • Must be able to simultaneously receive multiple instructions and accurately implement the same
Mathematical Skills
  • Ability to utilize relevant mathematics in support of all companies
Responsibilities
  • Performs general cost accounting and other related duties for the organization
  • Prepares monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements
  • Maintains the general ledger
  • Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts, and closes the monthly books
  • Reconciles bank accounts at least monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks
  • Reconciles cash disbursement accounts, payroll, customer accounts, and other financial accounts; manages accounts receivable collections
  • Verifies and/or completes payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts
  • Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit
  • Files tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies
  • Coordinates with software vendor to maintain accounting software systems; recommends updates to enhance the accounting software
  • Manages the purchasing and invoicing system
  • Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
