Contract Details:
- Temp-to-perm role.
- Hourly Pay: $20–$25.
- Minimum 1-year experience required.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accounting Clerk Assistant to support the finance department with payroll, tax filings, accounts payable, and general ledger responsibilities. This role is critical in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring timely payments and reconciliations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process weekly payroll and associated payroll tax filings.
- Prepare and file quarterly payroll reports and year-end W-2 forms.
- Manage sales tax submissions for Texas and Louisiana.
- Enter and process non-inventory bills.
- Pay monthly recurring bills and weekly inventory-related invoices.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations.
- Prepare a monthly financial packet for the external CPA.
- Assist in managing commercial insurance documentation.
Required Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year of accounting or bookkeeping experience.
- Familiarity with payroll processing and tax reporting.
- Experience handling sales tax and general ledger tasks.
Nice-to-Have
Experience:
- Prior experience with multi-state sales tax filing (Texas and Louisiana).
- Exposure to commercial insurance documentation in a finance context.
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in payroll tax filing and W-2 preparation.
- Ability to perform bank reconciliations accurately.
- Competency in managing accounts payable systems.
Preferred
Skills:
- Experience with accounting software (e.g., Quick Books, Sage, or similar).
- Knowledge of sales tax compliance for Texas and Louisiana.
- General understanding of commercial insurance in accounting.
