This 15 person independent CPA firm in Arlington is looking for a Partner level tax leader who wants to play a meaningful role in the next stage of the practice. That could mean an experienced Director ready to make the step up to Partner, an existing Partner considering a lateral move, or a senior CPA with a portable book of clients who wants the right home for the work they have already built.

The appeal here is not bureaucracy, size, or brand name.

You will be close to the clients, close to the team, and close to the decisions that shape the future of the firm. In a practice of this size, your contribution will be visible, your judgment will matter, and your ideas will not have to travel through layers of management before anything changes.

• You will join a 15 person independent CPA firm where your voice, relationships, and leadership will genuinely matter.
• You will have a Partner level role with real influence over clients, people, growth, and the future direction of the practice.
• You will have the chance to step up from Director level if you are ready for ownership but blocked where you are.
• You will have a strong lateral option if you are already a Partner but want a smaller, more direct, less political environment.
• You will have a credible home for a portable book of clients, with a firm that can support continuity, service quality, and future growth.
• You will work in a relationship led environment where client trust matters more than internal complexity.

• Leading and strengthening client relationships across the firm’s tax practice.
• Advising closely held businesses, business owners, and individual clients on tax planning and compliance matters.
• Supporting complex tax planning work and higher level client advisory conversations.
• Reviewing and overseeing tax work to maintain quality, accuracy, and strong client service.
• Helping develop Managers, Seniors, and wider team members.
• Working with firm leadership on growth, client strategy, workflow, hiring, and long term planning.
• Bringing or building a book of business, depending on your current position and background.
• Helping shape the future direction of the firm as a senior leader.

• An experienced Tax Director who is ready to move into a genuine Partner role.
• A current Tax Partner who wants a smaller independent firm with more autonomy and less internal friction.
• An experienced CPA with a portable book of clients who wants a stable, supportive platform.
• A senior tax professional who enjoys client relationships, advisory work, team leadership, and the business side of running a practice.
• Someone who wants to be part of a firm’s future rather than just inherit another demanding portfolio.

• Strong public accounting tax experience at Director, Partner, or senior leadership level.
• CPA required.
• A strong technical foundation across individual and business tax.
• Confidence leading client relationships and advising business owners.
• The ability to bring, build, or grow client relationships over time.
• Commercial judgment, leadership maturity, and a long term mindset.
• A portable book of clients would be highly attractive, but the firm is also open to experienced Directors ready to step up.
