Rhodes Osiek Patyk & Company, LLP has been providing tax, accounting, audit, and business consulting services to individuals and businesses since 1979. As our firm continues to grow, we are seeking a Tax Preparer / Staff Accountant with public accounting experience to join our team.
This position is primarily focused on the preparation of individual and business income tax returns, with additional involvement in client accounting services, financial statement preparation, and attestation engagements.

Role Overview :Tax Responsibilities
- Review and organize client tax documents and supporting information
- Maintain accurate and organized tax work papers
- Prepare federal and state tax returns for:
- oPartnerships (Form 1065)
- oS Corporations (Form 1120-S)
- oC Corporations (Form 1120)
- Communicate with clients regarding tax information
- Perform tax research and assist with resolving client tax matters
- Prepare and review monthly financial statements
- Reconcile bank and balance sheet accounts
- Prepare adjusting journal entries
- Review general ledger activity for accuracy
- Assist with bookkeeping and client accounting services
- Participate in attestation engagements
- Work directly with individual clients and business owners
- Develop professionally within a collaborative public accounting environment
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting (Required)
- Minimum 2 years of public accounting experience
- Minimum 2 years of hands‑on tax return preparation experience
- Experience preparing Forms 1040, 1065, 1120-S, and 1120
- Understanding of federal income tax concepts and compliance requirements
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- Proficiency with Quick Books
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- CPA candidate or CPA license
- Experience with professional tax preparation software – Ultra Tax a plus
- This position requires recent experience preparing individual and business income tax returns in a public accounting environment.
Candidates whose experience is limited to the following without tax return preparation experience are unlikely to be a fit for this position:
- Accounts Payable (AP)
- Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Payroll
- Corporate Accounting
- Bookkeeping Only
- Monday through Friday – In Office
- Additional evening and Saturday hours required during peak tax season
