Accountant Associate - Hybrid

Job Purpose:

The Staff Accountant will assist in maintaining the financial health and integrity of the hospital. This position is responsible for general ledger management, month-end close procedures, financial reporting and ensuring compliance with both GAAP and hospital policies.

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or equivalent combination of education and experience required

Minimum of 2-4 years of progressive accounting experience in the management of financial systems and budgets, financial reporting, financial data analysis, and auditing. Prior experience in healthcare, hospital or clinical accounting is highly preferred. Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and auditing principles.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, index/match, and complex formulas). Experience with large-scale Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and healthcare financial systems (e.g., Lawson, Workday, Oracle, Meditech, or Epic). Experience with Meditech Magic, Client Server or Expanse preferred. Solid understanding of GAAP and internal control frameworks. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with high attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills to explain financial concepts to non-financial clinical staff.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities during close periods. Strong organizational skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-function teams. High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and professional judgment. Ability to comply with attendance requirements and comply with Human Resource policies.
