Position summary
The Business Administrative Assistant is a part‑time, hourly role providing a warm, professional front‑line presence for New Life Fellowship in Arlington, TX. This role ensures smooth daily operations by answering phones, welcoming and directing guests, managing mail and basic office logistics, and completing routine administrative tasks to support staff and administrative ministries. The position also maintains the Executive Director of Business’s calendar: scheduling appointments, coordinating meetings, and handling related communications, while protecting confidentiality and representing the church’s values.
Keyresponsibilities
- Answer and route incoming calls professionally; take and deliver messages.
- Greet visitors, check them in as required, and direct them to staff or locations on campus.
- Receive, sort, process, and distribute incoming mail and packages; facilitate mail routing to staff and departments and manage outgoing postage/shipments.
- Maintain and manage the primary calendar(s): schedule appointments, confirm/reschedule, and flag conflicts for Executive Director of Business.
- Serve as the first point of contact for New Members entering into Administration ministries.
- Prepare and print documents, handouts, and meeting packets for Executive Director of Business.
- Maintain weekly filing for requisitions and other important documents.
- Perform other clerical tasks: data entry, scanning, copying, ordering basic office supplies.
- Complete special projects and assignments as directed by the immediate supervisor.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college or office coursework preferred.
- 1+ year front‑desk, receptionist, or administrative experience preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Comfortable interacting with church attendees, staff, volunteers, and vendors.
- Reliable, punctual, professional appearance and demeanor.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (email, calendar, Word/Docs, printing).
- Comfortable using multi‑line phone systems and basic office equipment (copier, scanner, printer).
- Familiarity with scheduling/calendar software (Outlook).
- Be able to learn different databases quickly necessary for job.
- Background check and reference checks required.
- Knowledge of church protocols and commitment to New Life Fellowship’s values preferred.
- Part‑time (20–30 hours/week);
Monday–Thursday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (some evenings or Saturday potentially needed depending on event)
- All Staff and Leaders of New Life Fellowship must agree and be willing to abide by our beliefs, Cultural Elements and Standards of Leadership of the church.
- While membership to New Life Fellowship is not required for this position it is highly recommended, to be a member of the church or be willing to become a member upon hire.
