Position SummaryPriority Power is seeking a Director of Strategic Accounts to drive growth within our Municipalities, Universities, Schools, and Hospitals (MUSH) vertical. This is a direct sales role focused on originating new business, building long-term relationships, and expanding our footprint across public-sector and cooperative customers in both regulated and deregulated electricity markets. The ideal candidate knows the Southeast and Eastern U.S. energy landscape and understands how public institutions make decisions.
Responsibilities- Originate new business across municipalities, cooperatives, higher‑education institutions, school districts, and healthcare systems.
- Build and manage a strong pipeline through proactive outreach, relationship development, and opportunity identification.
- Advise clients on Priority Power’s full suite of services, including energy procurement, distributed generation, grid infrastructure, storage, load optimization, and regulatory insights.
- Manage the entire sales process—from discovery and solution scoping to proposal development and deal negotiation.
- Partner with internal engineering, regulatory, analytics, and operations teams to deliver tailored solutions.
- Develop trusted relationships with key stakeholders such as city managers, cooperative leadership, facilities directors, superintendents, and hospital executives.
- Stay current on regional market dynamics, regulatory developments, and competitive activity across the Southeast and Eastern U.S.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 7–10+ years of experience engaging municipalities, cooperatives, or public‑sector customers in an energy‑related capacity.
- Strong understanding of both regulated and deregulated electricity markets.
- Proven track record in direct sales, business development, or complex solution selling.
- Deep familiarity with the Southeast and Eastern U.S. energy landscape and customer base.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship‑building skills.
- Experience selling or advising on distributed generation, renewable energy, storage, or grid infrastructure projects.
- Established network within the MUSH vertical.
- Ability to successfully originate business without relying on formal RFPs.
- Ability to manage long sales cycles and multiple stakeholders.
- A consistently growing pipeline built through proactive outreach.
- Strong relationships with public‑sector and cooperative decision‑makers.
- Closing deals that generate recurring annual revenue across the MUSH segment.
- Clear, professional communication and reliable follow‑through.
- Effective collaboration with internal technical and regulatory teams.
