- Lead the development, negotiation, and execution of contracts with clients, vendors, and partners, ensuring alignment with company objectives and compliance with applicable laws.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams, including legal, finance, and operations, to create and implement effective contract management strategies.
- Conduct thorough reviews of contract terms and conditions, identifying potential risks and proposing mitigation strategies to safeguard the company's interests.
- Monitor contract performance and compliance, providing regular reports and updates to senior management on key metrics and potential issues.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for contract-related inquiries, facilitating communication between stakeholders and ensuring timely resolution of any disputes.
- Develop and maintain a centralized contract database, ensuring all documents are accurately stored, tracked, and easily accessible for future reference.
- Provide training and guidance to team members on contract management best practices and company policies, fostering a culture of compliance and accountability.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in contract management, making recommendations for process improvements as necessary.
- Participate in strategic planning sessions, offering insights on contract-related implications for business development and operational efficiency.
- Assist in the preparation of proposals and bids, ensuring that all contractual obligations are clearly defined and understood by all parties involved.
- Negotiate amendments and modifications to existing contracts as needed, adapting to changing business needs and market conditions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with external partners and clients, ensuring a collaborative approach to contract management and execution.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Law, or a related field; a Master's degree or relevant certification (e.g., CPCM, CCMP) is a plus.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in contract management, preferably in a technology or consulting environment.
- Proven track record of successfully negotiating complex contracts and managing high-stakes agreements.
- Strong understanding of legal terminology, contract law, and regulatory compliance issues.
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to assess risks and develop effective strategies for contract management.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building rapport with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in contract management software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating initiative and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Experience in government contracting or familiarity with federal acquisition regulations (FAR).
- Knowledge of project management methodologies and tools.
- Previous experience in a leadership or mentoring role within a contract management team.
- Familiarity with risk management principles and practices.
- Experience in international contracts and cross-border negotiations.
