The Worship Director provides spiritual, musical, and organizational leadership for the worship ministry of the church. The primary responsibility of this position is to help the congregation worship God faithfully through Christ-centered, biblically grounded, and thoughtfully planned corporate worship.

The Worship Director will recruit, disciple, equip, and lead teams of musicians, vocalists, and production volunteers while working closely with pastoral leadership to ensure that worship services support the overall mission, theology, and ministry philosophy of the church.
This is a 40-hour-per-week ministry position that includes Sunday responsibilities, weekly rehearsals, service planning, volunteer development, administrative work, and participation in the broader ministry life of the church.

• Worship Leadership and Service Planning — approximately 12–14 hours/week
  • Plan and lead Sunday worship services in collaboration with the Senior Pastor and other ministry leaders. Select songs that are biblically faithful, congregationally accessible, and consistent with the church’s theological convictions and worship philosophy.
  • Develop service orders that thoughtfully integrate Scripture, prayer, music, preaching, communion, baptism, testimonies, and other appropriate elements of corporate worship. Prepare arrangements, chord charts, tracks, transitions, and other materials necessary for effective rehearsals and services.
  • Provide worship leadership for special services such as Christmas Eve, Good Friday, Easter, baptisms, conferences, funerals, and other significant church gatherings as needed.
• Worship Team Leadership and Development — approximately 8–10 hours/week
  • Recruit, audition, train, schedule, and shepherd musicians and vocalists.
  • Develop a healthy worship-team culture characterized by spiritual maturity, humility, excellence, preparation, teamwork, and a desire to serve the congregation rather than perform for it.
    Build leadership depth so that worship ministry does not depend upon one individual. Identify and develop additional worship leaders, musicians, vocalists, and team leaders who can lead services and rehearsals.
    Provide regular encouragement, feedback, training, and discipleship for worship ministry volunteers.
• Production and Technical Ministry — approximately 4–6 hours/week
  • Provide leadership and oversight for the church’s Sunday production ministry, including audio, lighting, presentation, livestream/video, and related technology.
    The Worship Director does not necessarily need to personally operate every technical position but should ensure that capable volunteers are recruited, trained, scheduled, and supported.
  • Work with church leadership to maintain equipment, identify technology needs, troubleshoot recurring issues, and recommend appropriate upgrades.
• Rehearsals and Sunday Services — approximately 6–8 hours/week
  • Prepare for and lead weekly worship rehearsals, emphasizing both musical preparation and spiritual leadership.
    Arrive sufficiently early on Sundays to oversee team preparation, sound checks, rehearsals, prayer, and final service preparation. Provide leadership throughout all Sunday services and ensure that worship and production teams understand their responsibilities.
  • Develop systems that allow rehearsals to be efficient, prepared, encouraging, and spiritually meaningful.
• Administration and Communication — approximately 4–5 hours/week
