Primary

Purpose:

Support teachers and students as assigned

Qualifications:

* High school diploma, Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred

* Special Knowledge/

Skills:

* Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

Experience:

Experience working with children and/or in school preferred

Major

Responsibilities and Duties:

* Be a role model; uphold school vision of nurture, character, discipline, and academic excellence.

* Assist in the implementation of the IEP goals under the direction of the teacher.

* Work cooperatively with classroom teachers to assist SPED students with assignments in general education classes.

* Assist SPED students with assignments or tests in Content Mastery setting.

* Compile, maintain, and file all physical and electronic records as required by federal, state, and district policy.

* Use effective communication skills to present information clearly and accurately.

* Maintain professional relationships with colleagues, students, parents, and community members. Respect confidentiality guidelines.

* Attend all staff meetings and complete all recommended training.

* Follow directions given by head teacher or immediate supervisor.

* Other duties as assigned.

None.

Factors:

Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent standing, stooping, bending, pulling and pushing. Move small stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desks, and other classroom equipment.
