A skilled Sign Language Interpreter is needed to support communication accessibility within an educational environment located in Arlington, TX. This role involves facilitating effective communication between hearing-impaired students and their peers, teachers, and staff, ensuring an inclusive learning experience. The position may require travel to various school locations as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Interpret spoken language into American Sign Language (ASL) and vice versa during classroom instruction, meetings, and school events.
• Collaborate with educators, students, and families to support individualized education plans (IEPs) and communication goals.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional ethics and standards in all interactions.
• Adapt interpreting techniques to suit different learning environments and settings.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development related to educational interpreting and deaf culture.

Qualifications:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with demonstrated interpreting experience in school or educational settings.
• Knowledge of Deaf culture and educational terminology.
