The Youth Minister will provide vision, leadership, and spiritual direction for students in grades 6-12 and their families. This leader will build upon a strong foundation, cultivate meaningful relationships with students and parents, strengthen discipleship pathways, and develop a thriving ministry culture that helps students become lifelong followers of Jesus. Success will be measured not only by program effectiveness, but by spiritual growth, leadership development, outreach impact, and deep relational trust throughout the church family.

Proven Ministry Leader
Demonstrates a track record of leading student ministries that grow both numerically and spiritually. The ideal candidate can create environments where students are engaged, discipled, and challenged to follow Jesus wholeheartedly.
Relational Leader and Trusted Shepherd
Builds trust naturally with students, parents, volunteers, and church members. Creates a ministry culture where students feel known, cared for, and connected while maintaining healthy relationships with families.
Builder of a Flourishing Youth Ministry
Aligns with First Baptist Arlington's discipleship framework by helping students become Saved, Shepherded, Shaped, and Sent. Able to create intentional pathways that lead students toward spiritual maturity and active participation in the mission of God.
Creative and Courageous Outreach Leader
Effectively engages today's generation through thoughtful innovation, cultural awareness, and biblical conviction. Possesses a passion for reaching students who are far from Christ while remaining firmly grounded in Scripture.
Equipper of Parents and Volunteers
Understands that effective student ministry extends beyond weekly programming. Recruits, develops, and empowers parents and volunteers to play meaningful roles in discipling the next generation.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Youth Minister will oversee all aspects of the student ministry for middle school and high school students while partnering closely with families and church leadership. Reporting to the Discipleship Minister-Formation and serving alongside a collaborative ministry team, this leader will help shape the next generation strategy of the church while contributing to the broader mission of First Baptist Arlington.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and oversee all student ministry environments, programs, and events for grades 6-12.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive discipleship strategy for students and families.
- Equip parents as the primary disciple rs of their teenagers.
- Recruit, train, and shepherd volunteer leaders and ministry teams.
- Develop student leaders who serve, influence, and share the Gospel.
- Create pathways for outreach, connection, and assimilation of new students and families.
- Build meaningful relationships with local schools, educators, and community partners.
- Supervise student ministry staff and foster a healthy ministry culture.
- Oversee ministry operations, budgeting, communication, and safety procedures.
- Collaborate with church staff to advance the mission and vision of First Baptist Arlington.
