This onsite contract opportunity is perfect for experienced professionals ready to support K-12 students, taking on full counseling responsibilities during two consecutive maternity leaves.
As a school counselor, you'll serve a diverse caseload (approximately 75-85 students), conducting comprehensive behavioral threat assessments and providing guidance tailored to a range of grade levels. The position operates during standard school hours—Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM—offering stability and consistency throughout the assignment from early August through mid-December.
Desired qualifications:
- Master’s degree in a related field from an accredited institution.
- Current Texas School Counselor Certificate issued by SBEC, with one of the following:
Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Psychologist (LP), or Licensed Specialist in School Psychology (LSSP). - Prior experience supporting K-12 students, preferably with direct school-based counseling.
- Solid skills in conducting behavioral threat assessments and managing varied caseloads.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to effectively collaborate with students, parents, and school staff.

- Deliver counseling services to general and special education students across grade levels.
- Complete timely behavioral threat assessments and document findings.
- Support students’ social, emotional, and academic well-being.
- Collaborate with educational staff to implement intervention strategies.
- Maintain confidentiality, ethical standards, and compliance with school and state guidelines.
