Academic Recruiter

Salary: up to $53,000 per year, commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Work Schedule:

Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. The role requires travel by plane and/or automobile for recruitment duties; occasional weekend and evening projects may be needed.

Job Summary

The Academic Recruiter engages undergraduate business students for programs offered by the College of Business at UT Arlington, and supports the planning, execution, and assessment of recruitment activities and events.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Partner with outreach and recruiting staff to promote the college’s undergraduate programs off campus to businesses, community colleges, high schools, and other organizations.
  • Contribute to creating and executing communication and recruitment strategies, including mailings, phone campaigns, electronic communications, school visits, information sessions, and special events.
  • Attend recruitment fairs and conferences to build relationships with colleges and universities.
  • Act as liaison between schools, community colleges, community groups, and the college to coordinate tours, presentations, and disseminate admissions requirements and program details.
  • Coordinate with university recruiting efforts and staff.
  • Develop and maintain professional networks and technical knowledge by participating in conferences and workshops.
  • Maintain consistent and accurate communication with prospects from initial inquiry through application to enrollment.
  • Review and evaluate prospective transfer student transcripts and provide counsel on program requirements.
  • Continuously update program knowledge to ensure accurate communications.
  • Collaborate with Business Undergraduate Advising to facilitate communication with admitted students.
  • Collect prospect data and maintain a prospective student information database.
  • Monitor UTA reports related to undergraduate recruitment and admissions.
  • Generate and distribute statistical data on applicants, newly admitted and enrolled students to Deans, Associate Deans, and Program Directors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from an AACSB institution and at least 2 years of experience in student recruitment, admissions, student affairs, customer service, or sales.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Bilingual – Spanish.
  • Three (3) years of consultative sales or marketing experience valued.
Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively with students, faculty, staff, and external contacts.
  • Oral presentation skills.
  • Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and database management; familiarity with social media and electronic communications.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good understanding of higher education and student affairs.
  • Physical capability to complete required tasks.
