Salary
The annual salary for this position ranges from $52,200 to $54,000. The final offer will be commensurate with the candidate’s relevant experience and qualifications.

Provide direct academic advising to individuals or groups of advisees to enhance the academic experience, student retention and completion. Assist with the administration and coordination of academic advising programs or initiatives, training and onboarding new advisors, and supervising a small team of advisors and support staff.
Essential Functions- Conduct academic advising via in-person, virtual, phone and email.
- Provide guidance on degree requirements, course selection, and assistance in setting and achieving educational and career goals.
- Help students make informed academic decisions and utilize tools and resources.
- Monitor students' progress, conduct outreach, verify degree progress, remove holds, approve forms to ensure timely progression.
- Analyze student data, transcripts, placement results; enter advising notes into MyMav.
- Oversee implementation of best practices, communicate program requirements, create reports, support program improvement and assessment.
- Speak to constituencies—including students, advisors, parents, faculty, administrators—about advising process, orientation, and activities.
- Assist with training and onboarding of new advisors and supervise a small team.
- Maintain understanding of applicable policies and procedures, and provide referrals to counseling and tutoring services.
- Participate in meetings, conferences, and professional development.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Master’s degree and four (4) years of experience working with college students in an academic advising capacity, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Four (4) years of progressive academic advising experience at a public R1 University, with leadership or supervisory experience in higher education.
- Experience implementing, monitoring, and assessing student development programs or projects.
- Proficiency in high-impact academic advising practices and NACADA standards.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local policies governing academic advising, including probation, dismissal, and reinstatement processes.
- Strong working knowledge of the University Catalog.
- Ability to collaborate with students and colleagues from diverse backgrounds and abilities.
- Monday through Friday; 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
- Travel: 10 %.
- Hybrid schedule (remote and in-office).
- Standard office conditions; repetitive keyboard use.
