Flexibility is required, as occasional evening and weekend hours may be necessarybased on department needs

Special Instructions to Applicant: This is a part-time position, with a maximum of 19.5 hrs. per week

Job Summary

This role is responsible for coaching prospective and First Time InCollege (FTIC) students through the enrollment process by providing guidance related to educational planning, career pathway selection,and access to College resources that support student success.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Essential Performance Requirements*
  • Conducts pre-enrollment workshops
  • Educates students on the steps necessary to complete the enrollment process
  • Works closely with the Registrar and Financial Aid offices toassist students who are entering the College
  • Utilizes career and education tools to assist students with career information related to students’ interests and aptitudes(e.g., MyPlan, Career Coach)
  • Assists students with career pathway selection by answering questions, providing information, and providing other support when necessary
  • Educates students on the academic program steps necessary to successfully complete a certificate or degree program, includinghow to utilize and navigate online systems and campus information and resources
  • Provides information regarding student life opportunities,including student activities and organizations on campus as well asother campus resources
  • Assists in retention activities of the College by supportingadvising, counseling services, transfer events, career events, and related activities
  • Coordinates and presents workshops (i.e., financial literacy,study skills, etc.) for all students
Service Excellence
  • Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually, andfollows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite
  • Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College (TCC)
  • Supports the mission, values, goals, and principles of the College
Supervision

Works under the supervision of the assigned campus leader

Required

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree and one (1) year’s working experience relatedto the Essential Performance Requirements; or any equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least one (1) year’s working experience working with First Year Experience programs in a community college environment
  • At least one (1) year’s working experience with career interestinventory testing procedures and outcomes
  • Multilingual in language(s) beyond English

  • Knowledge of career exploration resources and career pathwayselection processes
  • Knowledge of College academic programs, student services, andcampus resources
