Role Summary
The Team Assistant provides adaptable classroom support across multiple environments. This role focuses on child supervision, environment care, and smooth classroom functioning while maintaining consistency with Montessori principles and school expectations.
Core Responsibilities
Child Guidance & Relationships
- Establish respectful, supportive interactions with children across classrooms.
- Support positive behavior, independence, and self-regulation.
- Ensure emotional and physical safety while responding calmly to children's needs.
Montessori Environment Support
- Assist with maintaining clean, orderly, and prepared classroom environments.
- Support classroom routines as directed by the Lead Teacher.
- Care for materials and help ensure readiness of learning spaces.
Health, Safety & Supervision
- Supervise children at all times and maintain required ratios.
- Support transitions, coverage needs, and sta?ing continuity.
- Follow all health, safety, and licensing procedures consistently.
Flexibility & Collaboration
- Adapt to varying classroom routines, age groups, and team expectations.
- Communicate clearly with Lead Teachers regarding classroom needs and observations.
- Provide coverage during absences, transitions, or special circumstances as assigned.
Professionalism & Community Engagement
- Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
- Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and flexibility in assignments.
- Support TMA’s mission, values, and Montessori philosophy across all settings.
Professional Development
- Complete required professional development and licensing training hours.
- Maintain accurate training records and certifications.
- Apply learning to practice across classroom settings.
