Position Summary
Tarrant County Kids is an esteemed childcare program that exists to support working families who need a safe and nurturing place after school. Part of The Youth Vantage Alliance family, and affiliated with Girls Inc. of Tarrant County and Vantage Point, Tarrant County Kids is made up of dedicated individuals passionate about working with children. We’re on a mission to provide a nurturing after‑school environment where kids aged 4‑12 can flourish.
The Youth Program Supervisor is at the forefront of creating an enriching experience for the children in our care. This position works Monday through Friday, 3:00‑6:15 or 6:30, depending on the site.

Program Leadership & Curriculum Implementation- Craft, implement, and oversee a comprehensive before and/or after school care curriculum that integrates academic enrichment, arts, physical activities, social‑emotional learning, and character development in alignment with The Youth Vantage Alliance curriculum framework, program goals, and quality standards.
- Ensure daily activities are developmentally appropriate, engaging, inclusive, and designed to support children’s academic growth, creativity, independence, and social skills.
- Lead staff in creating meaningful learning experiences through intentional planning, hands‑on activities, and opportunities for children to explore their interests and strengths.
- Monitor curriculum delivery to ensure activities align with TCK expectations, lesson plans, and Texas Rising Star quality indicators.
- Evaluate program effectiveness by reflecting on what worked, what challenges occurred, and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Create a welcoming, safe, and nurturing environment where every child feels valued, respected, and empowered to reach their full potential.
- Build meaningful relationships with children by understanding their individual needs, interests, strengths, and areas for growth.
- Promote positive behavior through proactive classroom management strategies, relationship‑building, and implementation of TCK’s character development expectations.
- Ensure all staff interactions with children demonstrate patience, respect, encouragement, and a commitment to creating a positive youth experience.
- Maintain active supervision at all times and ensure compliance with all safety procedures, emergency protocols, and child protection standards.
- Provide daily leadership, direction, and support to Youth Program Instructors to ensure consistent program quality and positive child outcomes.
- Supervise, train, coach, and evaluate assigned staff, providing ongoing feedback, recognition, and opportunities for professional growth.
- Communicate program expectations to site teams and ensure team members understand their responsibilities related to curriculum, safety, licensing, and customer service.
- Support onboarding and training of new employees, ensuring staff are prepared to successfully implement TCK programming.
- Hold staff accountable for meeting performance expectations, following policies, and maintaining a high standard of professionalism.
- Ensure the program operates in compliance with the Minimum Standards for School‑Age and Before or After‑School Programs established by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS).
- Maintain accurate records, documentation, and required reports to ensure licensing compliance and operational excellence.
- Monitor daily operations, including attendance, ratios, supervision, health and safety practices, and required documentation.
- Maintain Texas Rising Star (TRS) standards across all areas of program operations, including curriculum, classroom environment, staff interactions, family engagement, and continuous improvement.
- Prepare the site for licensing visits, TRS assessments, and internal quality reviews.
- Develop and maintain positive, professional relationships with school leadership teams, teachers, and campus partners to strengthen collaboration and support student success.
