The annual salary for this position ranges from $37,600 to $55,000. The final offer will be commensurate with the candidate’s relevant experience and qualifications.

The Admissions Counselor II provides professional advice and counseling regarding student admission. Responsible for the recruitment of new students, including performing activities that will generate prospects, applicants, and new student enrollment. Builds professional connections with school counselors and educational partners that promote UTA and a college bound message. Serves as a professional liaison for students and families as they navigate the admission process.
EssentialFunctions
- Manages a geographical territory for the purpose of recruiting new freshmen, transfer enrollees and/or perspective students.
- Provides written updates of territorial numbers and procedural goals.
- Keeps university enrollment goals as the focus of all recruitment activities and maintains current metrics to measure success and progress toward stated goals.
- Builds relationships with the school counselors, students and families within that region and serves as a direct liaison between the students and the campus.
- Develops and nurtures relationships with community partners, strengthening connection and providing outstanding service to each.
- Travels to conferences, high schools, colleges and other learning institutions to promote admission requirements and procedures at UTA.
- Counsels students and parents on admission requirements and financial aid processes.
- Reviews student applications for admission and counsels applicants regarding their eligibility status.
- Provides information to prospective students and parents on specific educational opportunities of the University, both on and off the campus.
- Replies to phone calls, correspondence and e-mail from prospective students, their family members and/or other educational partners.
- Prepares professional, thorough correspondence in response to inquiries submitted to the office or the staff member.
- Assists in the planning and implementing of all recruitment functions; assist with events, both on and off campus, as well as virtual events; assists other areas/departments on campus with recruitment efforts.
- Performs other duties assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in any business or related field or four (4) years of equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Two (2) years of professional work experience in admissions, recruitment, customer service or academic advising.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Software.
- Work well both independently and within a team environment.
- Detail-oriented
- Ability to multitask in a busy office environment with multiple interruptions, including high volume phone calls and monitoring multiple email accounts.
- Ability and knowledge to use standard office equipment.
- Monday through Friday; 8:00am through 5:00pm
- Travel to conferences, high schools, colleges and other learning institutions.
- Uses standard office equipment
- Requires occasional evening or weekend hours
