About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Controls Engineer to support a long-term stamping project at a major automotive manufacturing facility in Arlington, Texas. This is a site-based role in a high-volume production environment, supporting both ongoing manufacturing operations and project-driven activities.

The customer is looking to onboard the right engineer ahead of the project start to ensure continuity, stability, and long-term technical support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide hands-on controls support within an automotive stamping operation
  • Troubleshoot, modify, and optimize Allen-Bradley PLC systems
  • Support production uptime, commissioning activities, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Work in accordance with established manufacturing and controls standards
  • Collaborate closely with customer engineering and maintenance teams
  • Support project execution alongside day-to-day manufacturing needs
Required Experience
  • Proven experience as a Controls Engineer in automotive stamping environments
  • Strong working knowledge of Allen-Bradley PLC platforms
  • Hands-on experience supporting high-volume production operations
Preferred Experience
  • Prior experience working in a GM stamping facility
  • Solid understanding of GM GCCS standards
  • Candidates with stamping experience at other OEMs will also be considered if they have worked on GM-related projects using GCCS standards in other manufacturing environments
Work Schedule
  • Typically 50–60 hours per week, depending on production demands
  • Some weeks may be closer to a standard 40-hour schedule
  • Overtime requirements are driven by the customer
  • Initially 1st shift, with potential shift changes as the project progresses
Compensation & Contract Details
  • Overtime paid per agreed multipliers
  • 12-month contract
  • This is a local position to the Dallas / Arlington area
  • No travel or living expenses provided
