BIM Specialist II

Job Summary:

This position requires daily BIM modeling and coordination tasks, while assisting in the development of Revit standards, families, project templates, workflows, and procedures within Bosch Building Technologies.

Responsibilities
  • Develop detailed 2D and 3D drafting models using AutoCAD, Revit, BIM
    360, and Navisworks for structured cabling systems, outside plant infrastructure, audio‑visual systems, security systems, DAS, and related low‑voltage disciplines.
  • Assist the Director of Design and VDC Manager in developing and maintaining BIM/AutoCAD standards, processes, libraries, and templates.
  • Make recommendations on software, training, and hardware to support the Bosch BIM/AutoCAD program.
  • Provide 3D renderings of Conference Rooms, Data Centers, and IDF/MDF rooms for customer proposal packages.
  • Build the BIM Specialist’s knowledge base of BIM and the technologies Bosch installs.
  • Attend BIM coordination meetings and work with architectural firms, developers, MEP consultants, and trade modelers; serve as a project partner and ambassador for Bosch Building Technologies.
  • Review project Design Intent, BIM Execution Plan, and/or Project Execution Plan to ensure alignment with project goals.
  • Perform electronic takeoffs using Autodesk applications or Bluebeam Revu.
  • Maintain strong communication skills (written and verbal) and soft skills such as approachability, teamwork, adaptability, creative thinking, problem solving, calmness under pressure, and willingness to train others.
  • Maintain individual skillsets in AutoCAD, Revit, BIM
    360, ACC, Navisworks, Microsoft Office Suite, and Bluebeam Revu.
  • Perform miscellaneous design, drafting, modeling, or office tasks as directed by the Design Manager.
  • Ensure timely and complete submission of each drawing set per BIM Execution Plan and Design Schedule; coordinate with teammates to meet deadlines.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and high‑quality standards.
Required Qualifications
  • 3–5 years of drafting and design experience in IT, instrumentation, controls, electronics, and/or security industries.
  • Post‑secondary education from an accredited college, university, or technical institution in Electronics, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Ability to create aesthetically pleasing, legible, and accessible drawings.
  • Experience with the following technologies:
    • AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam Revu, IP networks, low‑voltage electronics, power and communications, Windows desktop operating system, Microsoft Office.
  • Strong understanding of physical security and/or technology industries, including complementary products, technologies, trends, and general applications of physical security technology.
  • Understands and has experience with fundamental concepts of IP networks, low‑voltage electronics, power, and communications.
  • Strong command of English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects while responding to changing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Highly developed analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Motivated self‑starter with ambition to research new technologies and engineering/business methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with the following technologies is an asset:
    • Access Control, CCTV (IP and Analog), Intrusion Systems, Client‑Server security applications, MS SQL databases, Servers and Storage Arrays, or Microsoft Visio.
  • Field experience in a construction environment is an asset.
Physical Demands
  • Effective communication (see, hear, speak, and write clearly) and manual dexterity for frequent reaching, lifting of small objects, and operating office equipment.
Working Conditions
  • Office environment that is clean, orderly, properly lighted, and ventilated; noise levels are low to moderate.
Remuneration and Benefits
  • Compensation: $28.00 - $35.00/hour (DOE)
  • Working hours:

    Monday – Friday; overtime and on‑call as needed.
