Position Overview

As a Commissioning Technician with Blink Energy Services, you will support and help perform commissioning services for commercial building systems focused on energy conservation. This includes HVAC equipment, building controls, domestic hot water systems, and lighting.

This role covers both office and field responsibilities. In the office, you will help coordinate project communication, track open items, and assist with preparing and polishing commissioning deliverables. In the field, you will travel to project sites to witness contractor‑performed testing, verify system performance, and document findings. You will work closely with the Commissioning Manager and gain hands‑on experience across both sides of the commissioning process.

You will draw on your understanding of equipment operation fundamentals to identify errors, omissions, and deviations from the project specifications.

This is not a managerial role, but it does require someone who can manage their own time, meet deadlines, communicate professionally, and maintain a high standard of quality in their work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Commissioning Manager with project coordination, communication, and follow‑up on outstanding items
  • Track open items, action items, and deadlines across active commissioning projects
  • Follow up with contractors, clients, and project teams regarding pending items, needed corrections, and project status
  • Review construction drawings and project documents to support commissioning coordination
  • Travel to project sites to assist with field verification and witness contractor‑performed testing
  • Observe, verify, and document the performance of building systems including rooftop units (RTUs), makeup air units (MAUs), chillers and associated pumping systems, boilers and commercial plumbing systems, domestic hot water systems, lighting systems and controls, and building automation and equipment control sequences
  • Assist with preparing, cleaning up, and finalizing commissioning reports and project deliverables
  • Prepare written notes, summary emails, and communications related to project status and open items
  • Maintain internal checklists, logs, and documentation for each project
  • Record time and project notes accurately in Blink's project management software
  • Represent Blink Energy Services professionally in both office and field settings
Key Qualifications

Candidates should meet at least one of the following minimum qualifications:

  • Ability to work independently in a remote or semi‑independent environment
  • Professional presentation and conduct in field and client‑facing settings
  • Willingness to travel to job sites as needed (some overnights)
  • Willingness to learn Blink's commissioning processes, standards, and documentation expectations
Schedule and Development
  • A typical workday will range from 8 to 10 hours depending on schedule
