BGS is seeking a talented and motivated Electrical Design and Integration Engineer (Mid-Level or Senior) to join our Commercial Modifications Engineering team in Long Beach, California. In this role, you will play a crucial part in developing and maintaining electrical product details, assemblies, and installation designs for a diverse range of commercial aircraft, from the MD series to the Boeing 777X.

You will design and implement electrical solutions that enhance aircraft capabilities, improve operational efficiency, and ensure seamless integration of new technologies. Your contributions will impact passenger comfort, performance and reliability, and you will work closely with customers to provide tailored solutions.

Position Responsibilities
  • Design and develop electrical systems, including equipment racks, power panels, cable routers, and antenna configurations
  • Work with customers and suppliers to develop and document complex electronic and electrical system requirements
  • Document processes, specifications and procedures that support the design and manufacturing of electrical commodities
  • Review supplier technical data to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting to airlines and modification sites
  • Collaborate with a multi‑disciplinary team of engineers in an agile environment
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance design efficiency and effectiveness
  • Apply knowledge of verification, validation, certification and qualification processes (e.g., DO‑160, DO‑178, DO‑254, D6) and governing regulations
  • Assess and document test or analysis data to demonstrate compliance
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or an equivalent non‑US qualification directly related to the work statement
  • 5+ years of related work experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • 9+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience with Equipment Manager responsibilities for Line Replaceable Units
  • Familiarity with FAA and EASA certification regulations and requirements
  • Systems thinking: ability to understand inter‑relationships of all positions and activities in a system and anticipate future impacts
  • Analytical technical skills: collect, organize, synthesize and analyze data; summarize findings; develop conclusions and recommendations
  • Proficiency in engineering drawings and specifications (blueprint/schematic reading, specification, change and design)
  • Experience with computer‑aided design tools and systems (CAD/CAM, CATIA, Mentor Graphics, Unigraphics)
  • Engineering judgment in developing decisions based on criteria, implications and consequences
  • Knowledge of certification and qualification processes and assessing compliance data
