General Accountability

The Electrical Quality Control Technician is responsible for ensuring the quality and functionality of products leaving the REV manufacturing facility. This role involves performing and documenting electrical tests on REV products, ensuring they meet internal quality standards as well as industry and customer requirements. Additionally, the Electrical Quality Control Technician verifies that product designs are functional and align with customer specifications.

  • Accountable for verification of electrical designs with the as-built product.
  • Maintaining documentation
Responsibilities
  • Review and verify detailed design drawings including:
    • wiring schematics
    • single lines
    • three lines
    • System architecture
    • Wiring diagrams
    • Detailed bill of materials (BOM) for projects
    • General arrangements
    • Other drawings
    • Create redline drawings using PDF Editor and/or AutoCAD.
  • Occasional site visits to acquire information for design and installation of new equipment and retrofits.
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned by your manager to ensure REV’s goals and objectives are met.
  • Performs all duties so as to meet the responsibilities listed in REV’s Safety and Human Resources Policy Manual.
  • Performs duties according to REV’s quality system procedures and work instructions.
  • Responsible for customer, scope of work (project and commercial), standards, and code compliance for all/assigned projects.
  • Verifying applicable standards and codes are met after assembly and fabrication (CSA 22.1, 22.2, C37.20, UL 891, IEEE, and others as needed).
  • Responsible for REV relevant certification compliance and labeling.
  • Responsible for performing testing on electrical products using various test equipment and managing test records.
  • Responsible for customer witness testing and checkout.
  • Responsible for verification of electrical designs with the as-built product.
  • Responsible for providing electrical troubleshooting of equipment in manufacturing shop and customer support.
  • Responsible for maintaining testing equipment and calibrations.
  • Responsible for interfacing directly with project managers, and clients, certification bodies and regulatory agencies (Electrical Safety Authority, municipalities, etc.) to ensure that designs comply to all customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Responsible for maintaining/creating procedures and processes.
  • Creating test reports, ITP’s, and other testing related documentation for customer or internal needs.
  • Perform testing on electrical products using various test equipment.
  • Testing products include but limited to switch gear, circuit breakers LV/MV, Relays, Transformers, panel boards, cables, battery systems.
  • Use of hand tools (screwdrivers, sockets, side cutters, wiring tools, Multimeter etc.) on a day-to-day basis.
Qualifications
  • Degree/Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology (preferred) or a combination of electrical education and hands‑on testing/assembly experience.
  • Min of 5 years of electrical testing experience, preferably in switch gear, MCC’s, panel boards, power distribution assemblies, or industrial controls.
  • Strong understanding of AC/DC circuits, three-phase power, protection relays, CTs, PTs, and metering circuits.
  • Familiarity with UL/CSA standards for industrial control panels and switch gear.
  • AutoCAD proficiency, control panel design experience and system expertise for the following:
    • wiring schematics
    • single lines
    • three lines
    • BOM
    • System architecture
    • Wiring diagrams
  • Protection relay programming and design experience (optional but valuable).
  • PLC programming and design experience (optional but valuable).
  • Experience in designs for manufacturing and assemblies (optional but valuable).
  • Ability to use the following test equipment, including but not limited to: multimeters, meggers, hi-pot testers, and communication/test software (SEL, GE, Schneider, ABB).
  • EIT or CET considered an asset.
