Position Overview

The OCUA Operator is responsible for monitoring, operating, and maintaining the dryer system within our FMD plant using a SCADA‑based control system. This role combines technical, mechanical, and operational responsibilities to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant plant performance.

What You Will be Doing

Here’s an overview of your responsibilities and how you can leverage your expertise:

  • Operate and monitor the dryer system through the SCADA computer interface
  • Perform equipment changeouts including motors, drives, belts, pumps, valves, instrumentation, screw conveyors, and bucket elevators
  • Conduct preventative maintenance on all plant equipment
  • Complete oil changes and routine mechanical servicing
  • Manage chemical storage and polymer applications
  • Perform sludge sampling and maintain accurate recordkeeping
  • Conduct plant rounds, inspections, and operational observations
  • Support fire suppression systems and safety protocols
  • Maintain inventory of parts, chemicals, and supplies
  • Follow all safety, environmental, and operational procedures
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs
  • Ability to work in an industrial environment (heat, noise, confined spaces, heights, etc.)
What We’re Looking For

When selecting candidates, we will be looking for the following essential skills, abilities, and experience:

  • Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
  • Experience with industrial equipment or plant operations preferred
  • Basic computer proficiency (SCADA experience is an asset)
  • Ability to work independently on an overnight shift
  • Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
