PDMS Design Group is seeking an experienced MEP Project Lead to join our growing team. As an MEP Project Lead
, you'll play a key role in overseeing project production, serving as a trusted client contact, mentoring designers, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality mechanical, electrical, and plumbing construction documents.
Location: Arlington, TX
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Architectural Engineering
- 3-5 years of MEP engineering and project coordination experience
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining project schedules
- Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for assigned clients.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, and vendors.
- Coordinate project schedules, deliverables, and communication.
- Ensure projects meet client expectations, quality standards, and deadlines.
- Maintain and improve client templates, prototypes, and project standards.
- Research products, materials, and code requirements for unique project applications.
- Assist with project scoping, fee estimates, and proposal development.
- Respond promptly to client inquiries and provide exceptional customer service.
- Produce complete, accurate, and code-compliant MEP construction documents.
- Coordinate mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and energy code requirements.
- Research applicable codes, landlord requirements, and jurisdictional approvals.
- Track project progress, deadlines, and revisions from kickoff through completion.
- Review drawings, provide redlines, and ensure quality control standards are met.
- Assist Project Managers with scheduling, project prioritization, and workflow.
- Create project files, organize documentation, and maintain project records.
- Help solve technical design challenges with minimal supervision.
- Support project teams to ensure deadlines are consistently achieved.
- Coach and mentor MEP Designers throughout the design process.
- Review project scope and expectations with team members at project kickoff.
- Provide guidance on code interpretation, project coordination, and best practices.
- Help designers improve efficiency, reduce repeat mistakes, and grow professionally.
- Assist teammates with workload balancing to keep projects on schedule.
- Foster a collaborative, supportive, and accountable team environment.
