About the JobProvides leadership and direction to the Electrical Reliability Engineering team, driving initiatives to strengthen electrical power distribution reliability and implement strategic system upgrades that enhance flexibility, performance, and long-term dependability.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides technical and managerial leadership for the Electrical Engineering Department. Motivates employees toward achieving goals of electrical system safety, reliability, and efficiency. Coordinates daily departmental activities and oversees implementation of tools used to evaluate and prioritize assignments. Supervises staff to ensure timely and effective technical support for operations and maintenance.
- Establishes and maintains strong working relationships with external utility providers, including regular communication and long-term planning to enhance power supply reliability. Ensures that meeting notes and action items are documented and distributed to relevant personnel.
- Manages the Electrical Engineering and Specialist teams to optimize technical performance and support.
- Oversees engineering and specialist support for electrical power distribution equipment in capital projects, including equipment specification and installation in accordance with NEC and IEEE standards to ensure long-term reliability and asset optimization.
- Provides engineering and specialist oversight for major maintenance and turnaround activities involving critical electrical systems, including the development of inspection and repair recommendations.
- Leads efforts to resolve electrical equipment reliability issues using Root Cause Analysis (RCA) methods and cross-functional collaboration. Identifies, defines, and implements projects aimed at improving power distribution and equipment reliability and performance across the facility.
- Directs the development of maintenance standards and training programs for electrical power distribution equipment. Ensures that operators and maintenance personnel receive appropriate training for high, medium, and low voltage systems.
- Assists in the preparation of capital and expense budgets and provides regular reports on departmental activities, performance metrics, and project progress.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering required.
- 10+ years experience industrial electrical power systems related experience with exposure and responsibilities in maintenance/engineering areas required.
