- Manage the full cycle of accounting for proper accounting and reporting of company transactions.
- Partner with operations and business leadership to proactively support growth and execution.
- Prepare, post, and/or review monthly journal entries to ensure they are accurate and complete.
- Account for project revenues, expenses, accruals, and related account analyses promptly.
- Correspond with other departments to ensure proper accounting for purchases and expenses.
- Prepare, analyze, and/or review monthly account reconciliations and supporting schedules.
- Analyze the balance sheet and income statements, including comparisons to forecasted and trended results.
- Interact with central and divisional finance teams to maintain consistent accounting.
- Assist in the review and preparation of interim financial statements.
- Provide support for MCA s annual external audit.
- Hire, mentor, and develop accounting staff; conduct performance evaluations and support professional growth.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency, and scalability of accounting operations.
- Prepare various ad hoc and monthly recurring reports and analyses for management.
- Assist in the documentation and monitoring of internal controls.
- Assist with special projects as needed.
- Bachelor s degree in accounting; CPA required.
- 8+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a fast-paced & high-volume environment with demonstrated ability to manage staff, anticipate next steps, take initiative, exercise discretion, and apply sound judgment.
- Strong understanding of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Ability to produce timely deliverables and manage multiple and shifting priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Strong follow-up skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong customer service orientation, a team player with the ability to establish collaborative working relationships.
- Ability to communicate effectively throughout the organization at all levels.
- Highly proficient computer and software skills including advanced Excel, Net Suite preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and work well under deadline pressure.
- Strong leadership and time management skills.
- Credibility, ethics, full disclosure, and clean financial history.
- Excellent communication skills; including verbal and written.
- Strong technical and analytical accounting background with recent experience and familiarity with complex accounting issues.
- Exhibits a commitment to solving difficult problems with effective solutions and looks beyond the obvious for solutions to meet/exceed the needs of internal and external customers.
- Acts in a manner of integrity that shows support for the company, its values, and the employees while maintaining a constant focus on meeting/exceeding customer requirements and expectations.
Physical Requirements
The physical environment requires the employee to work inside. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to frequently stand, walk, sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear; lift (overhead, waist level) from the floor, bending, frequently utilize near vision use for reading and computer use;
occasionally move equipment weighing up to 15 pounds, and frequently position self to maintain computers or other equipment as needed.
Travel as necessary to support company and customer needs.
