We are seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join our mid-sized accounting firm in Mount Arlington, NJ. This leadership role is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned tax professional to manage tax compliance, guide strategic planning, and mentor a high-performing team.

As Tax Manager, you will oversee the preparation and review of business and personal tax returns, ensure compliance with evolving tax regulations, and serve as a trusted advisor to clients. You’ll work closely with internal staff and clients to deliver value-driven tax services and support complex financial decisions.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee the preparation and review of individual, trust, gift, partnership, and corporate tax returns

• Serve as a primary point of contact for clients; proactively communicate about tax matters

• Conduct technical research and provide strategic recommendations

• Identify and implement tax-saving opportunities for clients

• Lead, mentor, and provide performance feedback to tax team members

• Ensure accuracy and compliance by reviewing financial records and adjusting as needed

• Manage multiple client engagements and coordinate staff workflow and deadlines

• Demonstrate initiative, strong judgment, and attention to detail

• Other duties as assigned by Partners

Requirements

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required)

• Active CPA license (required)

• 10–15 years of progressive tax experience in public accounting

• Proven leadership and team management experience

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word

• Experience with Quick Books (desktop and online)

• Familiarity with tax prep software;
Pro System FX preferred

• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills

• Professionalism, confidentiality, and a strong work ethic
