Financial Analyst
Summary
The Financial Analyst works in one or more areas of financial, business, or budget analysis under the direction of management. Duties include research, selection, and compilation of financial data from multiple sources, such as sales, production, accounting, public sources, or vendors, and subsequent analysis of that data to produce business information used to support decisions. The analyst verifies the accuracy of data and all assumptions, prepares weekly/monthly reports to senior analysts and leadership, and supports program control activity related to managing cost and schedule of programs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Maintains and updates projects in Cobra using Earned Value Techniques (Budget, Performance, Actual and ETC)
- Sets up and maintains project IDs in Cost Point
- Provides Program Managers and Control Account Managers with financial support and recommendations
- Assists Program Managers with EAC updates as required by Sarbanes‑Oxley Controls
- Compiles and analyzes financial information to record transactions, prepare reports, and review and verify accuracy
- Assists/Prepares the monthly short‑term forecast (STF) for revenue, profit, cash and new orders
- Supports Junior Analysts with a variety of tasks for programs in a mentoring role
- Team player willing to assist other members of the finance department with performance of financial analysis and required review of data before submission
- Maintains a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a cooperative and supportive manner of customers, co‑workers and managers
- Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 5 years of prior related experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent people skills to collaborate in a multi‑disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team environment
- Outstanding work ethic and commitment to organizational success
- Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role
- Strong Excel, Adaptive, and Cobra skills
- Experience with Deltek Costpoint
- Comfortable presenting key financial concepts and information to senior leadership
- Experience with Fixed Price, Cost Plus, Incentive Fee, and T&M programs
- Must comply with all company security and data protection/usage policies and procedures
- Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials in any form
- Shall not divulge any information or afford access to other employees without a need‑to‑know
- Shall not divulge information outside the company without management approval
- All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company‑provided resources
- Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance
This position operates in a professional office environment, routinely using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. It is required to work in confined spaces for long periods and is full‑time in office.
